Northern Lights College Cultural Arbour will be constructed on the front lawn of the Dawson Creek campus. 

This project is a key part of the college’s strategic plan to strengthen Indigenous representation across its campuses. The arbour is an Indigenous-led initiative, the result of extensive collaboration and planning to ensure the structure reflects and respects the traditional lands on which it is being built. 

The project is a 450-seat covered outdoor gathering facility intended for cultural ceremonies, education and public events. Electrical features include architectural lighting, theatrical lighting and sound facilities, and power connections for kiosks and food trucks.

The Northern Lights College Gathering Centre in Dawson Creek, BC, shares an interesting architectural resemblance with the Pantheon in Rome, one of the best-preserved monuments of ancient Roman architecture.

Built nearly 1,900 years ago, the Pantheon is renowned for its magnificent domed roof. While vastly different in construction materials and purpose, both structures feature a distinctive circular architectural form that brings people together beneath a sweeping roofline.
