Fun Fact:
Under CSA Z32 – Electrical Safety and Essential Electrical Systems in Health Care Facilities, grounding integrity, bonding continuity, and equipotential planes play a vital role in reducing electrical shock hazards for patients who may be connected to multiple pieces of medical equipment.
Proper installation, verification, and testing of these systems help ensure that:
• Fault currents are safely cleared
• Voltage differences between conductive surfaces are minimized
• Sensitive medical equipment operates reliably
• Patient and clinical staff safety is maintained
