Construction on the project is slated to begin August 2022, and will see the school grow from 270 student seats to a modern space that will accommodate 435 learners from kindergarten to grade-7.
The original school was built in 1959, and was intended for children living in Glenmerry. Yet, since 2002 GES has been the only K-to-7 public school in Trail, and added six portables to accommodate over 130 extra students. FPEI is excited to contribute to improving the Trail Community with this much needed infrastructure project. SCL elected to self perform the balance of the contract Commissioning and Change Directives on June 20, 2025. Project Occupancy is anticipated to be issued in August of 2025 18 months after the original master schedule date issued on contract by SCL.
